Wines as Powerful as Their Message

Vins et Volailles is an all-female team with a passion for good food and wine, led by Fleur Godart, Louise Los, Marine Philomen Roux and Lisa Le Postec.

Their backgrounds are very diverse, from theatre to tattooing, cooking to oenology, but all come together over a glass of wine. The four decided at the end of 2020 to launch activist cuvées in collaboration with renowned winemakers in France.

They use each label as an opportunity to call out on the overly patriarchal and misogynistic attitude of the wine industry and society at large.

They are calling all women to own the derogatory terms and make them their own and turn it into an empowering feminist message of freedom and pride. Beyond the pretty labels lies a genuine commitment to actions, and profits were donated to a charity supporting trans sex-workers.

Both wines we feature at Kofra are from Alsace, France and are two of the most beautiful expressions of Orange wine we have tried.

Putes Feministes (Feminist Whores) is a Gewurztraminer and Muscat blend.

It is super light and aromatic, bursting with tropical citrus notes and just the right amount of acidity.

Toutes les mêmes ('all the same') is a blend of Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer and Sylvaner. Another bright, aromatic and floral orange, but with notes of spice, orange peel and hints of tropical fruit.

Fighting misogyny in the most delicious way possible, which fighter will you choose?
